About me
I was born in 1983. We didn’t have any pets at home, because me and my mother were allergic to animals.
Now I live in Lahti. I’ve been dreaming of a dog my whole life. In spring 2008 the “dog fever” hit me again and I started looking for a suitable breed. I had always wanted to have a smooth coated, small dog with standing ears. The right breed seemed hard to find. Then I stumbled upon a page where a 2-year old male Miniature Pinscher was for sale near us. I had never heard of the breed before and after quick googling I found it: my small dream dog with smooth hair and standing ears!
We adopted Rocky and he was instantly a true part of our family. My allergy wasn’t bothering me too much: my own dogs only give me occasional, short-lived hives. When training with Rocky I got lots of new friends and I also got interested in dog shows.
Late 2009 I decided to get a friend for Rocky. In July 2010 a small brown male Eeka moved with us. Now he’s almost 5 years old and still as playful as a puppy! Both boys have come along nicely, there hasn’t been any real fights.
In October 2011 I passed Finnish Kennel Club’s breeder’s basic course and immediately sent my kennel name application. In March 2012 my kennel name Bytekeeper was confirmed. In December 2012 I passed Finnish Kennel Club’s breeder’s follow-up course.

Since February 2012 I have fed my dogs with raw food. All my dogs love it, their bowels are working fine and coats are shining. My intention is to feed my possible future litter completely with raw food. I am not a hard core BARF-enthusiast. I feed my own way, by monitoring my dogs’ health, muscles and digestion and changing the feeding accordingly.
Finally, in November 2012 our kennel’s possible foundation bitch Numa joined us. All the dogs are getting along nicely. Numa has been fed raw food since she moved with us and whe’s grown up very nicely and balanced.
Puppies are coming in some distant future. Until then I plan to visit lectures and get as much experience and knowledge of dogs and dog sports as I can. For example I have attended a dog massage course and a couple of raw feeding lectures. With Rocky I have attended rally-obedience beginners- and follow-up -courses and a flyball course. Eeka has attended one agility-course and a Dobo-course.
I am a member of Suomen Kääpiöpinserit ry (Finnish Miniature Pinschers) and Suomen Kennelliitto (Finnish Kennel Club).
